SPD Life tester is an unique device manufactured in order to identify the performance status of Life efficiency of Surge Protection Devices installed in any system.
Need for SPD Life tester
For identifying previously damaged SPD Module – SPD Module can be inspected on site to identify faulty/ damaged module. If the module is damaged and if it is no longer serving the purpose, then you can replace and eliminate the fault in due time. The life of the module cannot be checked with visual inspection as fault is generally not visible.
The tester will assess and detect thermal overheating and electrical overload, further will indicate if the tolerance limit has reached which means it has been subjected to several stress more than its tolerance level. The testing can be done within seconds and it does not require any expertise or costly equipment.
It is an easily operated device which can be managed with a 9V battery.
This tester is made with reference to IEC 61643 part 11 and part 21.
